PIJHOON TERMS OF SERVICE

Effective upon public release on the App Store.

Welcome to Pijhoon. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Sida Li, an individual developer ("Pijhoon", "we", "us", or "our"), operating under the Apple Developer Program in the China region and distributing Pijhoon globally on the App Store. By creating an account or using the app, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use Pijhoon.

1. ACCEPTANCE AND ELIGIBILITY

1.1 Acceptance. You accept these Terms when you create a Pijhoon account, sign in, or otherwise use the app. Pijhoon is for personal use only.

1.2 Minimum age. You must be at least 13 years old to use Pijhoon, or older if the law of the country or region where you live sets a higher minimum age for using a social app or for consenting to the processing of your personal data (for example, 14 in mainland China for certain online services, 16 in some EU member states). By using Pijhoon you confirm you meet the minimum age that applies to you.

1.3 One account per person. Each person may hold one Pijhoon account. We may suspend duplicate accounts or accounts used by more than one person.

1.4 Who we are. Pijhoon is built and operated by Sida Li, a solo individual developer, not a registered company. Sida is enrolled in the Apple Developer Program as an individual in the China region. Pijhoon is distributed worldwide through the App Store.

2. ACCOUNT AND SECURITY

2.1 Signup. To create an account you provide a phone number and a password. The phone number is verified by a one-time SMS code. You may later add an email, sign in with Apple, and add a display name, avatar, and interests.

2.2 Credential security. You are responsible for keeping your phone, password, and devices secure, and for everything that happens under your account. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us at hello@pijhoon.com as soon as possible.

2.3 Accuracy. Keep the information on your account reasonably accurate and up to date. Do not use someone else's phone number, email, or identity.

2.4 Suspension and removal. We may suspend, restrict, or delete accounts that violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines, that are used to harm other users, or that we are required to act on by law or by Apple's App Store rules.

3. USER-GENERATED CONTENT

3.1 Your content. You keep ownership of everything you post on Pijhoon, including plans, RSVPs, chat messages, profile details, photos, and any other content you submit ("Your Content").

3.2 License to run the service. To run Pijhoon, we need permission to store and show Your Content to the people you share it with. You grant Pijhoon a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, distribute, and process Your Content within the app and through the backend that supports the app, solely for the purpose of operating, providing, and improving Pijhoon. This license includes the right to make technical copies (caches, backups) and to show Your Content to the audience you chose (friends, friends of friends, public Discover, group chat participants).

3.3 End of the license. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for: copies already shared with other users in chat or feeds (which we cannot recall from their devices), and routine backup copies that age out on the schedule described in the Privacy Policy.

3.4 Your representations. You represent that Your Content is yours to share, that you have any consents needed from other people who appear in it, and that it does not violate anyone's rights or any law.

3.5 No obligation to monitor. We do not pre-screen content, but we may review, remove, or restrict content that we believe violates these Terms, the Community Guidelines, applicable law, or Apple's App Store policies.

4. THE BOMB AND COMMUNITY ACCOUNTABILITY

4.1 What the Bomb is. Pijhoon includes an accountability feature called the "Bomb". When a confirmed participant cancels late or fails to show up to a plan, other participants in that plan can fire a Bomb at them. A Bomb records a debt entry on the targeted user's account in the Bomb Center.

4.2 Clearing debt. Debt is intended to be cleared by watching ads inside the app. The ad system is planned but not yet active in this version; only the debt accounting is currently live. Other reset paths (for example, host-initiated forgiveness) are described in the Community Guidelines and may evolve as the feature matures.

4.3 Not a financial penalty. The Bomb is a social accountability mechanic, not a fine. No money changes hands. Debt has no monetary value and cannot be converted into money, refunds, or any tangible benefit outside the app.

4.4 Use the Bomb honestly. The Bomb is for genuine flake events — real late cancellations and no-shows. Retaliatory bombing, coordinated mass bombing, bombing people who did show up, or any other manipulation of the feature violates these Terms and the Community Guidelines, and can lead to debt reversal, feature throttling, suspension, or account termination.

4.5 No appeal guarantee. We may review disputed Bombs at our discretion. We are not obligated to investigate every claim, but we will take reasonable action on credible reports of abuse.

5. PERMITTED USE

5.1 Personal use only. Pijhoon is for personal, non-commercial use. Do not use Pijhoon to run a business, advertise services, recruit, solicit, or otherwise commercialize the platform without our written permission.

5.2 Things you must not do. You agree not to:

5.3 Other users. Treat other users with basic respect. Harassment, threats, stalking, doxxing, and impersonation are not allowed.

6. TERMINATION

6.1 Your right to leave. You can stop using Pijhoon at any time and request deletion of your account by following the process in the Privacy Policy or by writing to hello@pijhoon.com.

6.2 Our right to terminate. We may terminate or suspend your access at any time if you breach these Terms or the Community Guidelines, if we are required to by law or by Apple, or if continuing to provide the service to you would create a serious risk for other users.

6.3 Effect of termination. On termination, your right to use Pijhoon ends. Sections that by their nature should survive will survive, including the license to content already shared with other users until it is removed under section 3.3, the disclaimers, the limitation of liability, and the governing law clauses.

7. DISCLAIMERS AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

7.1 "As is". Pijhoon is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, or statutory — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, content accuracy, and that the app will be free of bugs or security incidents.

7.2 In-person interactions. Pijhoon helps people plan and meet in real life. We do not vet users, we do not screen plans, and we do not supervise meetups. Anyone you meet through Pijhoon you meet at your own risk. Use common sense, meet in public for first hangs, and tell a trusted person where you are going. We are not liable for what happens between users offline.

7.3 Liability cap. To the maximum extent allowed by law, our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to Pijhoon is capped at the greater of (a) USD $100 or (b) the total amount you paid to us for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Pijhoon is currently free; this cap is forward-looking and applies if paid features are added later.

7.4 Non-waivable rights. Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you — for example consumer rights under the law of the People's Republic of China, EU consumer law, the UK Consumer Rights Act, California consumer law, or similar regimes. Where such non-waivable rights apply, this section is read down to the extent necessary to respect them.

8. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES

8.1 Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan), without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your home country still apply where they cannot be displaced by contract.

8.2 Good-faith negotiation. Before starting any formal dispute, you and we agree to try to resolve the matter informally by contacting hello@pijhoon.com and giving us at least 30 days to respond.

8.3 Forum. If informal resolution fails, individual disputes will be resolved by a competent court in the developer's home jurisdiction in the People's Republic of China, or, where the parties agree in writing, by individual arbitration.

8.4 No class actions. To the extent permitted by the law that applies to you, you and we waive the right to bring or participate in class actions, collective actions, or representative proceedings, and agree to resolve disputes only on an individual basis.

8.5 Apple. These Terms are between you and Sida Li, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Pijhoon or its content. Where Apple's standard end-user license agreement (the "Licensed Application End User License Agreement") applies to your use of Pijhoon on iOS, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of those Apple-required terms and may enforce them against you.

9. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will surface the update inside the app before it takes effect and update the Effective date at the top. Continued use of Pijhoon after the update takes effect means you accept the new Terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the app and, if you wish, delete your account.
